Educational Talent Search

The University of Pennsylvania’s Educational Talent Search Program is a federally funded TRIO Program designed to help eligible students complete high school and enroll in postsecondary school. Educational Talent Search provides approximately 600 students in grades 6-12 from West Phildelphia’s Lamberton School, Middle Years Alternative School, Parkway West High School, The Workshop School, and Overbrook High School with support services that instill within them a college-going culture and promote the academic and personal development necessary for entry into and success in postsecondary school.  The program offers a full range of activities and interventions designed to reduce the gap in college access, including counseling and workshops on goal setting, decision-making, career exploration, academic planning, college selection, scholarship searches, personal finance, and financial aid.  Students also gain exposure to college culture by visiting local colleges and universities, as well as collaborating with University of Pennsylvania students and staff.  Educational Talent Search is administered under the Vice Provost for University Life’s Office of Equity and Access Programs.

Students may join Educational Talent Search at any point in the academic journey.

All Educational Talent Search services are free to eligible participants.
